Boone Hall Plantation

Boone Hall Plantation has been open to the public since 1956. The McRae Family purchased the plantation in 1955 and it was Mrs. McRae who furnished the house with antiques and began giving tours. Today, the McRae Family still owns the property, and they continue to make improvements to the plantation so that visitors can experience what plantation life was like.  As you tour each site on the plantation, knowledgeable staff will help you understand the day to day activities of those who lived on plantations as well the history of the people who lived at Boone Hall.

Boone Hall Plantation was founded in 1681 when Englishman Major John Boone came to Charleston and established a lucrative plantation and gracious home on the banks of Wampacheone Creek. The family and descendants of Major Boone were influential in the history of South Carolina, the colonies and the nation. The McRae family is proud to present that history, covering over 330 years, on a daily basis.

Boone Hall is also one of America’s oldest working farms. They have been continuously growing and producing crops for over three centuries.

I have been a member of the Boone Hall family since before I can remember. It is amazing to have the people who have known me since I was a toddler, playing in the dirt & picking peaches now helping me to make my biggest dreams come true. Marketing director, Rick Benthall, is all too familiar with the Miss South Carolina Scholarship Organization as his daughter, Shelley Benthall, was Miss South Carolina Teen 2003, Miss South Carolina 2006 and won a non-finalist talent award at the Miss America pageant!

Fox Marketing

Somewhere in the evolution of advertising, the original notion of serving as an “agent” to the client was lost. Instead of using resources to build the client’s business, most agencies use their client’s business to build their resources and pay their overhead. They promote themselves as the best solution to any potential client’s challenge. They are driven by “creative” subjectivity, and they charge based on how much clients are able to pay. The Fox Marketing approach to client business is a return to the “agent” model: unbiased evaluation and configuration of services to meet your unique needs. From brand development to tactical execution, the result is a more strategic, full-service resource than freelancers or in-house departments can deliver on their own.  And a more flexible and cost-efficient service than agency models can achieve. In essence, we represent your business and, therefore, find solutions to the marketing challenges that best fit. We will put together a formidable team with a proven track record through our network of experienced resources.  And/or, we will work with any existing staff, vendors/suppliers and/or partners currently in place.

Dr. Cynthia Bindner- Carolina OB/GYN

Dr. Cynthia Bindner moved to South Carolina in 1992, after completing her residency at prestigious Northwestern University in Chicago. While at Northwestern, she conducted several research projects and helped author a textbook on the surgical treatment of incontinence. She feels that the practice of good medicine requires a fine balance of technological innovation and good old fashion common sense and compassion and that nothing replaces the fine art of listening to and examining the patient. With her extensive training and expertise she is able to provide all types of care for her patient-obstetrical and non-obstetrical, surgical and nonsurgical. Because of her commitment to excellence, her patients, some from many miles away, will continue to return to her year after year.

In 1979, Garden City, SC, resident Carrol Holshouser, while riding down Ocean Boulevard, noticed a stack of patio chairs thrown to the curb outside of a Myrtle Beach hotel. At second glance, he realized the aluminum frames were still in very good condition, yet the vinyl straps had deteriorated. “Why,” Holshouser reasoned, “Throw away perfectly good frames when only the vinyl straps need replacing?” Always the entrepreneur, the idea of Furniture Restrapping was born. Over the years, as the Myrtle Beach area has grown into one of the top vacation destinations in the world. Furniture Restrapping has undergone a transformation of its own. Now known as Custom Outdoor Furniture & Restrapping, the family-owned business is a unique, full-service operation in a 15,000-square foot facility at 2415 Business Highway 17 South in Garden City. Thanks to its Furniture Restrapping roots, Custom Outdoor Furniture & Restrapping is the one-stop answer to your outdoor furniture needs, commercial or residential, serving the coastal areas of South Carolina and North Carolina (we ship nationwide, too!).
